Austin, TX (KDBC) — Texans turned out again Tuesday at the state capital to rally over a restrictive abortion bill.
Opponents and supporters of the measure gathered for dueling demonstrations in Austin.
Representatives filed more than 20 amendments total in an attempt to chip away at the bill.
After hours of deliberations, the House tentatively approved abortion regulations, which was tabled by a 98-49 vote.
The House adjourned until 10 a.m., Wednesday, when they'll take up HB2 for final approval before sending it to Senate.
The legislation would enact sweeping regulations that would outlaw most abortions after 20-weeks of pregnancy and force most women's healthcare clinics that perform abortions to close.
