Las Cruces, N.M. (KDBC) — A Las Cruces man recovers from a stab wound after police said his girlfriend punched and kicked him before stabbing him in the right buttock Friday evening.
Cynthia Perez, 41, was charged with one count each of aggravated battery against a household member and tampering with evidence.
Not until the following morning, after Perez left the residence, did her boyfriend call police and seek medical attention for the stab wound. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Detectives found out that when Perez left the residence she took her boyfriend’s cell phone, bloody clothing and four steak knives.
Perez was arrested Saturday evening and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
