El Paso, TX (KDBC) — It appears locals booze too much, according to the City of El Paso's Dept. of Health.
It released its 2013 report on the state of El Paso's health, and El Paso County ranked worse than both Texas and the nation for excessive drinking.
When it comes to drinking heavily, 16 percent of locals said they do, compared to just 13 percent in Texas overall.
Also, the number of driving-under-the-influence crashes rose dramatically, by 130 percent from 2005 to 2011.
El Pasoans did fare better in the 2013 County Health Rankings report than some bigger Texas cities.
El Paso's overall health ranked 66th out of 232 Texas counties, placing higher than Dallas County (67), Harris County (70) and Bexar County (86).
