There was an unexpected twist in court Tuesday as the David Quiñonez murder came to an abrupt halt.
The 28-year-old decided to plead guilty just as the jury was deliberating whether he was innocent.
Quiñonez pleaded guilty as part of a last minute plea deal and will spend the next forty years in prison.
He shot and killed 32-year-old Jimmy Romero four times inside a car at the El Paso International Airport two years ago.
He's been in jail ever since -- and will receive credit for time already served. Quiñonez was facing up to 99 years prior to the plea deal.
