El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Melted blinds, charred insides and broken windows.
The mobile home is in ruins. What destroyed it began with faint smoke. It started at about 3:30 p.m. at a mobile home park in East El Paso near Montana and George Dieter.
"In reality, it was just a little bit of smoke," said neighbor Mario Yague. "I thought they were just cooking".
The man who lived inside didn't even know his home was on fire.
"He didn't know what was going on until we were outside and began to see flames coming out," said Yague.
He said the man who lived there is ill and didn't know what was happening. Once Yague got his neighbor out of the smoking, flaming mobile home, he called 911.
Yague said his neighbor doesn't have a gas line or any cooking appliances except a microwave and that wasn't on fire. Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire. Red Cross is helping out the resident with a place to stay because the mobile home is uninhabitable.
