El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Three local elementary schools are winners in the Subway Fit Challenge.
Students and staff at Lamar Elementary received a $2,000 check at a special assembly today.
For the last six weeks, schools around El Paso and Las Cruces logged all of their physical activity.
This is the fourth year Lamar Elementary has taken part in the challenge.
They've won the past three challenges and received &1,000 cash price.
Lamar's Physical Education Teacher, Juan Carlos Guerrero says the money is being put to good use.
"The money has been used to buy P.E equipment and now we better equipment for volleyball and basketball" said Guerrero.
The other top schools that received a check for fitness are Milan Elementary and Las Cruces Catholic School.
