LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Day two of the Gino Ferri murder trial continued in Las Cruces Tuesday with with witness testimony.
Jurors heard testimony from attorneys present at legal proceedings between Ferri and Gilles Delisle.
Ferri is charged with murdering Delisle, his wife Helga and their friend and business partner Peter Weith in April of 2010.
According to testimony, Ferri owed money to Weith who was partnered with Delisle.
They said Ferri was going to lose three properties he owned in Las Cruces to pay off the debt.
An attorney on the witness stand said Delisle was scheduled to be present at a hearing on the properties but never showed.
The attorney said after the hearing he called the sheriff's office asking them to check on the couple and that's when they were found dead.
More testimony from witnesses is expected Wednesday.
