Convicted murderer Jodi Arias pleaded for life in prison when she addressed the jury during the penalty phase of her trial Tuesday.
Arias said she would like to start a recycling program in the jail as well as a literacy program. Arias also said she designed a shirt, which she showed the jurors, and that all proceeds would go to survivors of domestic abuse. Arias also said she lacked perspective when she recently stated she would prefer the death penalty over life in prison.
"I didn't know that if I got life, there are many things I can do to affect positive change and contribute in a meaningful way," said Jodi Arias.
Arias was convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of her boyfriend, Travis Alexander.
