El Paso, TX (KDBC) — City Council has removed restrictions to the city's KickstART Downtown program.
The program under the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department, helps fund project related expenses that help promote the arts, cultural and sporting events in Downtown, El Paso.
Before, organizers could only receive city funding for up to three years but after Tuesday's City Council meeting, they will be eligible to reapply for assistance past three years.
"It's fulfilling the goal of revitalizing downtown. It's bringing tourism into town, putting heads in hotel beds. That's why council did the right thing, in supporting the amendment I requested." said Mayor John Cook.
