Newton, MA — The family of suspected Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev is trying to figure out where to bury him. Funeral Director Peter Stefan says several cemeteries in the area have refused to accept the body. Still, he says regardless of people's emotions, Tsarnaev's body must be buried somewhere.
"At this point, any outcome would be better than nothing. We do have to bury the person, regardless of what he did, as I said earlier, in this country, we bury the dead. Funeral directors have done this for years, they continue to do it. There aren't too many options. When there is no problem, it's very easy with the cemetery. This is a big problem, but somebody has to step in and say, 'Look, we're going to have to do something here,' and we have to. I've gone as far as I can go with this," said Peter Stefan, Funeral Dir. for Tsarnaev Family.
Meanwhile, Cambridge City Manager Robert W. Healy said he would not allow Tsarnaev to be buried in the city. Stefan has said if he can't find a grave site, he will ask the government to find one.
