El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Several El Pasoans who were in Boston during Monday's explosions are now starting to come home. On Monday, Newschannel 9 spoke with Jim Weddell a local runner who competed in the marathon. He was just two blocks away when the explosions happened. He says a few local runners and spectators were expected to arrive home late Tuesday night. Others will return Wednesday and Thursday.
Fifteen El Pasoans, four Fort Bliss soldiers, and two Las Cruces residents competed in the marathon. Dozens of family members and friends also traveled with them to Boston. We have not received reports of any Borderland residents being injured in the blasts.
