El Paso, TX (KDBC) — If you don't have to travel in the mornings this weekend, don't.
Texas Dept. of Transportation officials in El Paso will be making several closures due to the demolitions this weekend.
For the ASARCO demolition, Paisano/ U.S. 85 will close at 4 a.m. Saturday, with eastbound lanes closed from Sunland Park and Executive Center, while westbound lanes from Santa Fe St. and Ruhlen Ct. will be closed.
I-10 east and west will close starting at 6 a.m., with eastbound lane closures starting at Sunland Park, and westbound lane closures starting at the downtown Mesa St. exit.
On Sunday, I-10 East and West will be closed starting at 8 a.m.
Westbound lanes will close at the Mesa St. Exit Ramp (Exit 19A), with drivers being detoured to Yandell Dr. to Mesa St. And onto Executive Center Blvd., back to I-10.
Eastbound lanes closed at Executive Center Blvd. (Exit 16) will be detoured at Executive Center Blvd. to Mesa St., onto Wyoming Ave.and back onto I-10.
TX-DOT leaders are advising locals to watch the demolitions from the comfort of their homes on their televisions, or they can watch footage from their TX-DOT TransVista cameras online at http://its.txdot.gov . These will air on a minute delay.
