Registration is underway for the popular Miner Soccer Academy summer camps which will be held in summer 2013. All camps are open to any and all entrants.
Every camper who registers will receive a soccer ball and t-shirt while also having the chance to improve their skills under direction from some of the best coaches in the region. Campers who sign up for the first soccer camp at full price will receive a $20 discount for subsequent camps.
The soccer and swim camp (June 17-21) is the perfect summer camp for active kids of all skill levels ages 5-14. First, you can work up a sweat learning all of the soccer basics (heading, shooting, dribbling, passing, juggling and defending) from 5-6:15 pm and then you can cool off by going for a swim at UTEP's awesome Student Recreation Center from 6:30-7:30 pm! A soccer movie or book reading will be from 7:30-8 p.m.
The full-day camp (July 8-11), open for boys and girls ages 5-18, is perfect for the soccer lover. True soccer players will learn both outdoor and indoor techniques and strategies while playing soccer all day long. Topics taught are ball control, dribbling, heading, passing, shooting, juggling, and defending.
For those campers who want the experience of the full-day camp but at a smaller scale, there are two great options. There will be the half-day camp, outdoor (July 8-11) and the half-day camp, indoor (July 8-11). Each of those camps are open for boys and girls ages 5-18. Campers will be instructed in the same techniques and skills as the full-day camp.
There is also an advanced camp (June 17-21), which is for boys and girls ages 7-18. It is the perfect camp to develop into the soccer player you have always dreamed of becoming! This camp is open to all players but is designed for the advanced player and campers will be coached by the top local high school coaches and UTEP staff. The camp will focus on advanced tactical topics.
