EL PASO — Fort Bliss is celebrating the success of a program on post that helps soldiers transition home from deployment.
A new federal law requires Army National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers to attend the Veteran's Opportunity to Work/Transition Assistance Program, VOW/TAP. It is a five day transition program that is part of the 14-day demobilization process.
Soldiers receive information about continuing education, Veteran's Affairs and also receive training on how to build a strong resume.
Since the training started at Fort Bliss, 294 soldiers have received the training and 246 are employed.
