EL PASO — The new principal of La Fe Preparatory School has resigned.
As we reported, Priscilla Terrazas was a former school administrator tied to cheating scheme in the El Paso Independent School District.
She was hired as La Fe's principal last week.
Wednesday, La Fe administrators told Local 4 News she withdrew her application.
"I think the administration here should have checked her out before they hired her," said Mary Wood, a caretaker for a La Fe Prep student.
"I think that we're going to be looking for someone who deserves to be part of this community, who deserves to be part of the wonderful kids, staff and volunteers. Obviously, she's not," said mother Monica Mendoza.
Terrazas was never convicted or even charged with a crime, but several former EPISD employees claim she forced them to enroll students in the wrong grade to boost test scores.
