The UTEP Softball game against Siena, scheduled for a 3:00pm and 5:00pm start at the Helen of Troy Complex, has been postponed due to the bomb threat on the campus. School officials are looking for a potential field to hold the game, and will keep us updated.
After an incident at UTEP that closed campus for the day, the UTEP softball team will play one game against Siena at 7 p.m. at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. The Miners were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Tuesday.
The game is free to the public.
From the school, The University of Texas at El Paso announced a warning via email and social media Tuesday, prompting an immediate evacuation of the campus just before 2 p.m.
Their first Tweet read: "MINER ALERT: A possible threat has been identified inside UTEP CAMPUS. We ask that you EVACUATE the premises now."
Below is an email students and staff received from campus police:
"This message is from UTEP POLICE Office of Emergency Management.
