EL PASO — A man was seriously injured after being hit by a taxi cab Tuesday night in East El Paso.
Police said just before 8 p.m., a 73-year-old man was walking east to west on McRae when he was hit by the cab. After further investigation, police confirmed that the man was attempting to cross in an area that is not designated as a pedestrian crossing.
He remains hospitalized Wednesday with serious injuries.
"Take those extra moments just to ensure that you're crossing at the intersections or at marked crosswalks," said EPPD spokesperson Javier Sambrano.
Police said the man was taken to Del Sol Medical Center and then transferred to University Medical Center for further treatment. No charges have been filed in this case.
