EL PASO — One El Paso man will spend nearly a year in jail after he admitted to scamming homeowners in a remodeling business.
Jesus Cruz, 35, pleaded guilty after he told El Paso County attorneys he took $4,000 from a homeowner as a deposit for a remodeling job.
Attorneys say the work was never completed.
Cruz had already been on probation in another case, where he was ordered to pay that homeowner back $800, but failed to do so.
He will spend 300 days in jail on the charge.
