El Paso — A suspected drunk driver is in custody this morning following an early morning crash that took place Tuesday morning in North East El Paso.
Our morning news crew was the first to arrive at the scene of the crash that police say happened around 1 AM when the driver was going East bound on Pershing and attempted to make a left turn at a high rate of speed.
Authorities say the driver admitted to them that he lost control when he rammed into the guardrail, causing major damage to his truck.
Officers say the driver refused medical attention. Police suspect alcohol and speed are factors in this crash. The driver's name has not been released.
