The Hanks girls basketball shocked the UIL state touranment, advancing to today's 4A Regional Final against Aledo in Snyder, Texas. With a berth in the 4A State Tournament on the line, Hanks fell in a hotly contested battle, 50-48.
There was some controversy at the end. With Hanks up, the Knights were called for a flagrant foul, and Aledo hit three of four free throws for the lead. Many in attendance and listening on radio have told Local 4 that it was not a flagrant foul. We'll have the highlights at 6pm.
Hanks ends the season 26-9, and the 4A Regional Final berth is the farthest the Knights have gone in school history.
