LAS CRUCES — Vista Middle School is in need of re-usable water bottles for students in their after school enrichment program. The program has more than 250 students registered in the various after school classes; that's more than 25% of the total school population. Many of the classes involve strenuous physical activity.
The school is in need of 260 re-useable water bottles to give to the students, as the school only has a limited number of drinking fountains around the gym and weightroom. Part of this program also teaches students about proper nutrition and hydration. Organizers say, providing students with their own water bottle would allow them to keep hydrated and not miss out of any portion of the class by standing in the long lines at the water fountain.
Those that can donate the water bottles are asked to drop them off at Vista Middle School, 4465 Elks Road by next Friday, February 22.
