LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State basketball player Tyrone Watson is appealing his suspension [2] and will be going before a committee Tuesday afternoon, according to university officials.
Tyrone Watson, 22, is charged with a felony battery count [3]for allegedly punching a man [4] at a house party in late January.
The committee will consider Watson's appeal and make a recommendation to Athletics Director Dr. McKinley Boston who will have the final say on the senior forward's future.
Watson is allowed to have his attorney present during the committee hearing.
He will either be fully reinstated, conditionally reinstated or the suspension will be upheld.
No word on how soon Boston could make a decision.
