El Paso County suing Socorro to stop annexation

The El Paso County Attorney's office plans to file a lawsuit against the City of Socorro.

At Monday's County Commissioner's meeting, officials were given a status update on the City of Socorro's plans to annex land in San Elizario and Horizon.

The lawsuit, which will be filed on Tuesday is to stop the annexation process.

The County Attorney's office plans to negotiate with the City of Socorro even after the lawsuit is filed.
