EL PASO — The El Paso Convention & Visitors Bureau says the Hyundai Sun Bowl was a success. It confirmed Tuesday that approximately 3,000 hotel room nights were secured during the 79th Annual Hyundai Sun Bowl Game.
“This year’s Sun Bowl was an overall success, as we had nearly 48,000 in attendance to watch two great teams face off on the gridiron. Despite being somewhat cold this year, the weather was great,” said Bernie Olivas, Executive Director of the Sun Bowl Association.
They also reported that the El Paso CVB’s “No Passports” Commercial aired a total of four times to four million people, with a total ad equivalency of approximately $100,000.
Bill Blaziek, General Manager of the El Paso CVB added, “We are always happy to partner with the Sun Bowl Association each year and were especially excited to see our promotional spot that showcases El Paso on-air four times.”
Viewership of the game was also up 7% from last year.
