MONROE, CONNECTICUT — Teachers, staff and students from Sandy Hook Elementary will return to class tomorrow for the first time since the tragic shootings at the school. Twenty students and six educators were killed in the attacks when a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook. Classes have been moved to the neighboring town of Monroe. Classrooms at Chalk Hill School were remodeled to look just like the rooms at Sandy Hook. School officials hope a familiar environment will help kids make for a smooth transition to the new school.
