EL PASO — As you prepare Christmas Eve dinner for friends and family, remember what not to put down your drains.
Fats, oils and grease are the liquids you want to avoid putting down the drains in your home.
The problem is that once it's in the drain these liquids harden which sometimes causes serious damage.
EPWU says if every one of their customers dumped 8 ounces of fat, oil or grease down the drain, more than12,000 gallons of material would need to be manually removed from pipes.
