EL PASO — The Hyundai Sun Bowl Week, already months in the making, begins in earnest Wednesday with the arrival of opponents USC and Georgia Tech, along with many of their supporters.
Both teams arrive at El Paso International on Wednesday, with the traditional august welcome of mariachi bands and folklorico dancers.
On Thursday, players will visit children at local hospitals, and also mix with our soldiers stationed at Fort Bliss.
Sunday features a big party at the Convention Center from 4-8pm, with fireworks and a "battle of the bands" between USC and Georgia Tech.
Then the real contest takes place Monday Dec 31, New Year's Day, with kickoff at the Sun Bowl at high noon.
