UTEP football’s Jordan Leslie was one of 14 players named to the Conference USA All-Academic team announced league officials.
This is the first honor for Leslie, who boasts a 3.56 GPA in electrical engineering. The sophomore wide receiver was is a 2012 Commissioner’s Academic Medalist and is a two-time member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor roll.
Leslie ended the 2012 campaign as UTEP’s leader in receptions (51), yards per catch (19.1), yards per game (81.1) and total receiving yards (973). He ranks 33rd nationally in total receiving yards and is ranked 38th in the nation – fourth in C-USA – in receiving yards per game. The Houston native reached paydirt six times in 2012. He registered three games with more than 100 yards in receptions, two that came in C-USA action.
The all-academic team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve on their team.
