ANTHONY, NM — Voters in Anthony, New Mexico got one final boost of encouragement to cast their ballot early at a rally on Saturday, the last day of early voting in New Mexico.
The family friendly event included music, activities and treats for kids, along with information for voters.
Ariel Vickel, a member of a group called New Mexico Vote Matters, said it is important for parents to set an example for their children by voting.
"We're also making it a family friendly event because we want children to go with their parents to vote and learn about voting now, while they're young, so they can grow into really informed citizens," said Vickel.
New Mexico Vote Matters registered approximately 2,500 voters in the two weeks leading up to the election.
