Michael Gopin Bond Set at $500K Cash Only

EL PASO — Well-known El Paso lawyer Michael Gopin remains at the El Paso County Jail after he was arrested Tuesday.

Third judicial district court judge Jim Martin issued the warrant in late May after Gopin failed to file a ne exeat bond of $500 thousand and did not appear at a hearing earlier in the month.

Gopin was also accused of failing to provide a listing of all assets and contempt of court. He is expected to be extradited to New Mexico where his bond is set at half a million dollars cash only.
