Former UTEP women’s basketball player Natasha Lacy has been thriving in her rookie season with the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock.
Lacy, who made the team out of training camp, has not only been a key reserve for the Shock (2-3) but has proven to be one of the better rookies in the league. She paces WNBA rookies and is fifth overall with 4.8 assists per game. At the other end of the court, Lacy’s 2.6 steals per contest place her tied for the league lead amongst all players.
The native of El Paso has pitched in 9.2 points per game and grabbed 3.2 rebounds per contest to rate fourth among league rookies. She has appeared in five contests, and has earned 21.8 minutes per game.
Lacy’s and the Shock will be back in action when they play host to Minnesota at 6 p.m. MDT on Friday, June 4.
