El Paso — The El Paso City Council will vote Tuesday whether to save the Abraham Chavez Theater and restore it. Discussions have gone back and forth about whether the former theater is a place of historical value. If council votes to rescue the building that means it will not be demolished and the land will not be used for other purposes.
City council is also expected to discuss the village of Vinton and will try to come up with a resolution that supports the village's efforts for a municipal water system that's safer for its residents. Council also plans to discuss the possibility of creating a new housing development in downtown El Pasothat would issue one downtown parking permit to each person with a unit.
