EL PASO, TX — On Sunday members of the Tigua tribe discussed their culture and their ties to the Borderland. A local group called Friends of the Museum are spreading the word in El Paso about the area's regional tribes. The group hopes to expand the public's knowledge on regional tribes and the impact they have on the community. Friends of the Museum plan to hold an annual honoring our ancestors event focusing on a different tribe each year. The Tigua's have been in El Paso since 1682. The event was also sponsored in part by the Council of Texas Archaeologists.
