One billion served. Not burgers but Facebook!
A historic milestone for Facebook today as the social media giant reaches an incredible one billion users. That represents 1-7th of the world's entire population.
Creator and founder, Mark Zuckerberg, sat down with Matt Lauer of "Today Show" to talk about what this means for the company and the future of Facebook now that the pressure of having to perform for stockholders is a part of the equation.
"There's no way when we started this that I thought, or anyone around me thought, that we'd be able to be a part of something like this. It's incredible." Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg said.
Facebook hit its last major milestone 500 million users in July 2010. The social networking site officially hit the 1 billion user mark on Sept. 14 at 12:45 p.m. Pacific time, according to a fact sheet posted by the company.
