EL PASO — Bless Me Ultima is headed to New Mexico after a huge opening weekend in El Paso. The film came in number two at the box office here, despite being shown in just four theaters. The movie will open in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on October 19th, a day after its New Mexico premiere at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. The film was shot in the Santa Fe area. The story revolves around a young boy and his relationship with a curandera. It's based on an award winning, but controversial book by Rudolfo Anaya.
