Despite a lagging economy, retailers are expecting strong sales of Halloween costumes, treats and decorations this year.
National Retail Federation's 2012 Halloween consumer spending survey estimates seven in 10 Americans will take part in the festivities, with the average person spending $79.82 on Halloween related items.
That's about $7.50 more than they spent last year. Halloween is the eighth biggest selling season in the United States with an estimated 8 billion in sales this year.
