EL PASO — Young cancer patients got all dressed up and strutted their stuff during a fashion show at Providence Children's Hospital Sunday afternoon in observance of childhood cancer awareness month.
The goal was to educate and encourage patients and their families on important topics when dealing with the disease and getting their minds off of it for a little while.
"We can overcome and look good and feel good and just to show off clothes you know," said Michael Dominguez, who is undergoing treatments for cancer. "We can't be held down."
Siblings of patients made suspenders to symbolize the support they provide their brothers and sisters battling the disease.
