EL PASO — A suspected intruder got more than what he bargained for Monday morning.
El Paso Police said a tenant inside the apartment shot him just before 3 a.m. at the Warren Terrace Apartments on Mesa Street.
Authorities said the 25-year-old man was trying to break into a third floor apartment but the resident caught him in the act. The intruder then allegedly charged the resident, and that's when police said the 34-year-old tenant shot him twice in the chest.
The man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
His name and the name of the tenant have not been released.
