EL PASO — The Animal Rescue League is in shock after animal remains were found outside the shelter.
Director Loretta Hyde said a worker went to throw out the trash and a dog's head fell out of a bag in a trash bin.
The bag also had remains of burned dogs and birds.
"You know, we were all upset especially the young lady that found it and as soon as I got back I went there and I looked and it was more disgusting than what I had anticipated," Hyde said.
Hyde believes the remains were dumped between two and four in the afternoon Thursday at the shelter in Canutillo.
She said they want to find out who is responsible.
"Everybody is disturbed by this," Hyde said. "We've had so much outcry from the public today, you know, it's just senseless and it's just not right".
The Sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call them at 915-546-2280.
