SOCORRO - Summer often goes too quickly. The 43,000 students in Socorro Independent School District know better than anyone. They're the first school district in the area to hit the books this school year.
This year, they won't be sweating while they're learning. Thanks to a bond, 12 schools have new roofs, light fixtures and air conditioning.
Next year S.I.S.D will upgrade 6 more schools.
