Gomez Detained for 20 Minutes
Sunland Park, NM-- The director of Sunland Park's Senior Center was in handcuffs again Wednesday.
Police arrested Sylvia Gomez on Sunday for false voting, and Wednesday she was arrested for being on city property-- a violation of her bond restrictions.
Gomez was only detained for 20 minutes.
"She was released on this bond but she hadn't seen the judge at the time so she wasn't advised of her conditions of release at the time," said Angel Luna, for Sunland Park police.
Police said it was the Doña Ana County District Attorney and New Mexico State Police's decision to let Gomez go because she was not aware she couldn't be on city property.
Local 4 News has left messages with the District Attorney, but calls had not been returned as of Wednesday night.
Police did say she has been warned, and if she goes back onto property she will be arrested.
