El Paso, Texas (KDBC) — An El Paso mother says her family is living in fear tonight, 24 hours after her son was gunned down and killed outside the family's West El Paso home.
"I had a bad feeling in my heart that something bad was going to happen to him," said Isabel Nami.
Monday night, Isabel's 18 year-old son, Saeed walked outside the family's home next to Palo Verde Park to talk to his girlfriend on the phone. He never returned. Isabel says two men pulled up and shot her son at least nine times. He died while standing next to his older brother.
"It's hard to live without him. I never thought I was going to have so much pain," said Isabel.
Isabel says the two men fled the scene with Saeed's backpack, his laptop and his cell phone tucked inside.
"I don't believe someone's going to kill someone for a computer or a phone. I can't believe that. I can't," she said.
The shooting has neighbors on edge. One man, who asked not to be identified, says he heard the shots.
"We have kids and being so close to a park, it makes you think what could happen because we're so close," he said.
However, police say this was no random shooting. Court records show Saeed was set to stand trial next month on charges of dealing cocaine. Pplice would not say if that was a possible motive for the shooting, but Isabel's mother is certain there's a connection.
"What i want, I want justice," she said.
In June, one of Isabel's other son's was stabbed and nearly killed by a man who she says was a drug addict, and she says she and her sons have been threatened on several occasions in the week's since.
"I need someone to do something about it, because i have more children and i have my self, and i'm worried about my life."
A mother now living in fear while mourning the loss of her son.
"I can't tell him anything. I can't even hug him anymore. He's gone. All I have to do is bury my son."
Isabel says the men who shot her son were Hispanic and were driving a silver, Chevy Impala.
