EL PASO (KDBC) — Now that the temperatures are heating up, it’s perfect weather to go swimming, as long as you know how.
The water safety and training organizations around the country had free swimming lessons as part of the world's largest swimming lesson on Tuesday.

Kids were splashing and swimming, while life guards were helping them learn the safety about swimming.
Wet N’ Wild General Manager Shandra Edwards-Cottingham said nearly 200 children attended this free swimming lesson.

“Major safety tips today is calling out for help,” said Steele. “As for children, always keep an eye out for them, never leave them unsupervised."
And while the event was to promote awareness swimming safety, kids had plenty of fun as well.
“I got to make bubbles and swim to the people,” said Isabella Saenz, one of the swimming students at the event. “I had fun.”
Edwards-Cottingham did stress, however, that swimming is a skill children should learn early in life.
She said there are many places that offer swimming lessons throughout the summer.
