Women who are exposed to a lot of pesticides may be putting their babies at risk for autism or other developmental delays. According to a new study from the University of California Davis, women who lived within a mile of where pesticides are used on agricultural lands had a 60 percent higher risk of having children with a form of autism or other development disorders.
The study was conducted in California, where about 200 million pounds of pesticides are used every year, but critics say there is still no direct cause and effect.
