West El Paso Elementary School Gets a Makeover!

Friday, November 30, 2012 - 6:39pm

Teachers at Roberts Elementary School applied for a Lowe's grant to beautify a section of the school, and they did. Lowe's selected Roberts from a pool of several schools applying for the grant. On Friday volunteers stopped by to plant trees and flowers.

We spoke with the teacher who put the project together for her school. Lorena Reyes, a bilingual teacher at Roberts says, "We really needed the beautification at our school. The front we needed some work and we really didn't have funding to do it so we looked up to our Lowe's volunteers to come and they choose our school." The students say they're thrilled and want to spend their time reading in front of the newly planted flowers.
