Utah man arrested for El Paso bomb scare

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 - 4:49pm

A bomb scare prompted the closure of several streets in the Lower Valley last night, and we now know the name of the man behind it all.

Authorities say 43 year-old Charles Cole walked into the Valero gas station store on Yarbrough and Gateway East Tuesday evening and left a bag on the counter after making a disparaging comment to the store clerk.

The police department's bomb squad unit quickly responded and shut down several streets. After several hours, they determined it was all a hoax. The Salt Lake City man is now facing misdemeanor charges and is behind held on a $10,000 bond.
