U.S. recommends immunity for former Mexican President Zedillo

(CNN) — U.S. officials on Friday recommended immunity for former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo in U.S. federal court case over a 1997 massacre in southern Mexico. Survivors and heirs of the 45 Indian villagers who were killed in the massacre filed the lawsuit last year, accusing Zedillo of crimes against humanity.
