Odorant added one day after TX Gas warned customers odorant levels were low — Texas Gas Service announced Saturday it is adding odorants into the gas system in El Paso after the utility warned customers the day before that odorant levels were low in the area.
Natural gas does not have a smell so odorant is added to make it easier to detect a leak. Residents can expect to smell a rotten egg-like smell outside. However, if you smell the rotten egg-like inside a home or business, contact Texas Gas Service's emergency line at 1-800-959-LEAK (5325), or dial 911.
