It's one of the most anticipated murder trials in El Paso's history.
Today it was confirmed David Marmolejo will head to court in just a few weeks.
Marmolejo went before a judge this morning as lawyers on both sides met to tie up loose ends.
The trial is set to begin on October 1st.
The defense told the judge they are awaiting the results from one DNA expert.
However, they did not believe that would interfere with the trial date.
