EL PASO — More evidence Friday that the country's economic recovery is gathering momentum. The new numbers show more than a quarter-million Americans started new jobs in January.
Locally, El Pas’s unemployment rate was 9.6 percent, down from 9.8 percent. Thirty-three thousand people in our region however, are still unemployed.
The Sun City lost 2,100 jobs in January, most of those in trade and transportation. In Texas, the rate went from 7.4 to 7.3 percent.
